Home again. Sort of. For all you San Franciscans we're doing a show with Art Brut tonight at the Great American. The press I read calls them "UK Indie darlings" but I just think they rock. Plus I don't really like calling any collective groups "darlings." Is that wrong? Anyway I've been listening to their CD today and I reiterate my previous statement: they rock. It rocks. Together we will rock. After tonight we head out with them for a bit more than a week going from here to the land of Dorothy (and turn of the century farmer anarchists) the Lone Star State JohnElwayland the home of your San Diego Padres and points in between. Sadly we are not playing at amoeba records tonight but rather are driving through 100s of miles of desert. We will have a new Amoeba date soon!

Poor news section. How I've neglected thee. But being as this is the first time I've been in front of a proper computer in weeks I have a fine excuse. Not much big news now except we're on tour with Art Brut (wheeeee with many "e"s) for the next couple days (in Texas) then we drive westward in our shaky still rolling van for a few shows in San Diego Los Angeles and finally back home in San Francisco with the Fall. After that a wee break. Be well.

I'l be brief: the hometown Fall shows feature only us Birdmonsters and the aforementioned Fall. Therefore we're on at 8:30. The shows scheduled to end around 11 so you can be home to watch Dennis Richmond with your Mom. Unless he's on at 10. Or 7. Or not on Sundays. Anyway come on out early. Same deal tomorrow (Monday) too.

We're home momentarily with no grandiose news per se except a chance to sleep at home and write some new music. Shows around the Bay Area abound in the next three weeks followed by a sojourn to the East Coast where we've been meaning to go for ages and ages.

Soon I hope we'll have a nifty little video to show off and some proper news. For now enjoy the blog the pictures the album and the slowly updated tour listings. Now get back to work.

Permit the rather obligatory news entry here but it must be done. With another two weeks off (sort of; we've got a show in San Diego on the 3rd and in LA on the 4th but that's as close to "time off" as we get these days) there ain't much news to go around. Pseudo-daily musings are always present in the blog (link below) and we do have a fancy-pants store around here somewhere where CDs posters and...well right now just CDs and posters...can be found. Shirts soon. We're even making girl shirts for the ladies or the men with large boobs who like very short sleeves to boot.

Otherwise: East Coast brace thyself. And the Midwest too. And whatever North Carolina counts as. Maybe I can find Michael Malone somewhere...
