You do realize that the CD comes out in less than a week? Well maybe you don't but I do. It's all I can think about. I don't even remember where my house is anymore. All I know is: April 11th April 11th April 11th.

A few reminders:

If you've been here before you probably realize that something has changed. And it's not one of those "did you get a haircut?" sort of changes---no sir. It's more of a complete and total make-over not unlike you might see on Montel if you were unemployed and drunk on the couch at 3 in the afternoon. We've abandoned the old website the one laden with the spinny flash menu in favor of this simpler more navigatable dealy you see before you. The content is mostly the same but you know now you can buy stuff off a mobile. And if that isn't an improvement I'd like to hear what is.

So. The news: This Sunday finds us in our hometown newspaper the San Francisco Chronicle. I knew it was coming but it was still kind of a shock this morning. I woke up reeling from Zach's birthday fiasco and could barely comprehend this morning's Get Fuzzy let alone read anything without colorful pictures or sarcastic cats. The best part: our name is on the cover of the Pink Section with a little kid holding a grimey tennis ball and Betty Page. We are in good company.

For reasons unbeknownst to birdmonster we're scheduled to play in LA tonight. This sadly is impossible because I'm writing this at 3 pm in San Francisco. Unless you have a souped-up Delorean. If you do please email us.

The LP will soon be spreading like a pesky fungus except you won't be all itchy and angry when you get it. Wow. That's the worst sales pitch ever. At any rate we're holding them in our mittens right now and they look really really good. They look like little records which to some extent they are so that was well planned. So it's come to this eh? Tomorrow night (which is Wednesday the 19th) we're doing the whole CD-release-party thing. And you want to know the best part? It's only $5. I don't even think you can get a pair of socks for $5 anymore. At least not those thick wool ones. And definately not argyles either. Or those ones with the individual toes which come to think of it are actually rather creepy. At any rate: Wednesday! April 19th! The Mezzanine! Five Dollars! Four Bands! Brand New Music! Bold writing! I promise loudness and fun.

Hello one and all on this sunny morning after. A few things before we go get the tires changed on the van so as not to jack-knife into a crevase somewhere between here and Seattle:

Many many thanks to all those who braved the late night & were punished by their alarm clocks this morning for our CD release show. I did a little gushing in the blog if you're curious. We're leaving with Division Day tomorrow for a week & return May 1st to play with Art Brut at the Great American then leaving with them for a week before another short tour (information forthcoming when my brain wakes up). Sadly the Art Brut dates (May 1st-6th) mean we're rescheduling our Amoeba in-store & the show at the Metro in Oakland. For that we suck. But we'll make it up to everyone by playing a much better show when we return. I mean we were planning on doing a long Yanni-inspired rock opera at Amoeba but now that we're swapping dates I think we'll come back & just play a really good normal set. We'll save our inspirational tribute to the best New Age mustache for a later date when we're bloated and jaded. More news soon. For now you know free songs from the new album are still on MySpace & we've got the iTunes thing going & well that's that.
